So what’s the role all about?
As a Project Surveyor, you will be delivering the stock investment and planned works programmes for PA Housing for our London and South East properties. Stock investment works include kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors and roof replacements. Planned works include cyclical decoration and repairs to our schemes and other ad-hoc planned works as required.
This role can offer hybrid working, meaning you will be required to be in the office for around 2/3 days a week with the rest being from home when you are not on visits, however we may need you to be in the office more within your probation, whilst you get up to speed.
Some of the key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Use and update Keystone in managing and scheduling the works, including the use of mobile technology
- Certifying contractor valuations and claims within this role’s delegated authority limits, including interim and final account payment
- Carry out and manage the quality inspection process of works, including pre-start scoping, work in progress quality inspections and post inspection sign-offs
- Work closely with our resident liaison officer to ensure the stock investment and planned works offer excellent customer experience and high levels of customer satisfaction
- Providing advice on technical and contractual matters
- To be part of PA’s out of hour’s duty surveyor team which involves being on-call on a rota basis to assist PA’s out of hour’s service
To be successful in this role, we’d be looking for the following…
- Self-reliant and able to work on own initiative
- Knowledge of Quality Control systems
- Knowledge in all areas of domestic property maintenance
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience in delivering stock investment / major works to social housing or private residential housing
- Experience of managing suppliers through long term contracts which include JCT Measured Term contracts or similar
- Pre and post contract administration experience including preparation of specifications, preparing and reviewing of estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities, tender reporting
- Demonstrable record of taking projects from inception through to final delivery

So why do we need to know this information? This role will be required to visit / support PA Housing residents in their own homes on a regular basis. Therefore we have a duty to our residents to ensure that we have taken precautions regarding who will be visiting them and representing PA Housing.
